ZIRAN is the Armenian word for APRICOT.
Latin: PRUNUS ARMENIACA.

The apricot is an Armenian native fruit. It can be found at differing altitudes in a variety of different breeds. The apricot is one of the typical symbols for Armenia; it represents Armenia’s ancient and original culture and its way into a fruitful future.

ZIRAN is a small Zurich based enterprise, which aims – after several impressive visits in the country beyond the Ararat – at setting up projects with the people in Armenia, to provide them with an opportunity for a secondary income.

ZIRAN-Reisen offers a diversified range of individual travel itineraries to the landmarks and the habitants of Armenia. All of the travel arrangements grew out of personal encounters and co-operations in Armenia.

With the import of agricultural Armenian products, ZIRAN is trying to support the market and the local structures in this destitute country.
The same target is aimed by the printing of postcards through an Armenian print office; the provision of locally made bridles and other services for the travel arrangements.
