Honey is - next the apricots - one of the most typcal agricultural products of Armenia. Depending on the region and placement of the beehives, honey gets a naturally soecific flavor and taste. Our honey comes from mostly stable placments in the south-east end of lake Sevan (up from about 2000m above sea level) - from the mountain valleys near Vardenis. The bee-keepers of Vardenis in the last years formed a co-operatve of honey production, as a bases for mutual help, development of production methods, improuvement of healthy bee-keeping and commun guarantee of a natural product. Soon our honey will be officially labeled as "Organic ..."; the certification process is currently developed and installed in the countries of southern Caucasus.  ***It is our concern, and a principle of our ZIRAN-Projects, that preferably all workings will be done in Armenia, by Armenians. For that reason the honey is pre-packed in jars to 1/2 kg, 1 kg and 3 kg (in a popular 2 Litre Armenian jar) and transported, with the corresponding weights to Switzerland for sales. The revenue from the sales, entirely benefits the funding of this and some other projects within the framework of the ZIRAN enterprise. |
These days, our honey is leaving Yerevan and should arrive in Switzerland by mid November.
Our honey will be sold
- over our established organic / natural food-stores and "world-stores"
(where isn't it present ?!) - over friends and partner-organisations with similar targets
- at (your?) events that might concern Armenia
- over Armenian associations
